At Happy Hen Chicken Rescue we have 64 chickens. 34 rescued from battery cages. This is a battery egg farm:

We have 8 hens rescued from a free range farm. Free range farms, aren't really free range. Eggs with that label mean nothing. This is a free-range farm:

We have 3 hens who were found on the road side. We have 2 roosters who were abandoned at someone's house. And one rooster rescued from cock fighting.

The rest of our chickens are because we have had  2 sneaky hens hide and hatch chicks.. We usually take the eggs, so they won't hatch, as then we can rescue. But when they hide, and you can't find them..
